When my wife and I were planning our most recent vacation to Sarasota, Florida, we researched a few "Best" Sarasota FL Attractions Lists. We also had some well traveled friends highly recommend the Ringling Circus Museum, John Ringling Mansion, and the Tibbals Miniature Circus Model as three Sarasota Attractions we definately wanted to tour on our visit to the Gulf Side of Western Florida.

After touring the Ringling Circus Museum and the spectacular John Ringling Mansion (also known as the Cà d'Zan - "House of John"), plus the hand crafted over 42,000 piece Tibbals Miniature Circus Model, we definately agree that they all are "Must See" Sarasota FL Attractions! All three are easily accessable on the grounds of the Gulf front 66 acre Estate

The Ringling Circus Museum complex is only open from 10:am until 5:pm 6 days of the week, except Thursday when it is open from 10:am -- 8:pm. The 10:am to 5:pm days do not allow enough time to view and take the walking tours of all three of the main attractions, plus walk around the 66 acre Estate and view the beautiful Landscaping -- plus have time to see the John and Mable Ringling Art Museum if you are interested in viewing the Art Collection.
Plan on coming back for part of a 2nd day if you want to have time to see all of the Ringling Circus Sarasota, FL attraction.

No matter when you decide to travel to Sarasota, FL, you must spend at least a couple of hours sitting or walking on the warm ocean sand and enjoying the relaxing view of the quiet low waves on the Gulf waters. This side of Florida should give you some good sunset pictures over the water.

  Historic John Ringling Mansion with a waterfront view of the Gulf in back. On the 66 acre Ringling Estate. The Mansion construction took 2 years, and was completed in 1926. The original cost to build the mansion was $1.6 million. That is about $21 million in 2013 dollars, adjusted for inflation.

People who took the walking Tour of the Mansion could sit under an umbrella in one of the waterfront chairs for a while and enjoy the peaceful view of the Gulf.  You Can see why we thought this was a Top Sarasota FL Attraction!
  The Mansion is 36,000 square feet and is five stories tall. It has 41 rooms and 15 bathrooms.

Notice that the water is very still and that there are no waves or sounds of the surf in this photo on the west Gulf side of Florida
  -- Much different than the often big ocean waves and sounds of the Surf you see and hear on the East side of Florida Beaches like Cocoa Beach! (Why many, including my Wife and I, generally prefer the more "active" beaches on the east side of Florida!)

   Entrance to the Tibbals Learning Center on the Ringling Circus Grounds which houses the Hand Crafted Miniature Circus with over 42,000 pieces. Howard Tibbals spent almost 50 years building the miniature circus that is now considered the largest display of its kind in the world.
   The Tibbals Miniature Circus Display takes up almost 4,000 square feet with all of it's pieces.
